The Seeley G. Mudd Library

A comfortable gathering place for Harvard-Westlake students, staff, and faculty, the library holds approximately 20,000 books, journals, and DVDs.  Audioplayers loaded with titles supporting the English curriculum are also available.  Additionally, as a member of ISLE, the Independent School Library Exchange consortium, the H-W community has access to library materials of 13 local schools.

The library subscribes to approximately 90 magazines, journals, and newspapers. Thousands of other resources, including scholarly journals, magazines, e-books, and historical newspapers can be obtained through online databases.  Harvard-Westlake's catalog and databases are always available via the Internet.  Patrons also may explore book and media collections using the  , a net,      network of libraries.

The library is staffed by Shannon Acedo, Head Librarian, and Edith Darling and Clare Lawler, Librarians, all holders of Master's degrees in Library and Information Science and Candris Madison, Library Assistant and Testing Coordinator.  The staff is aided by a dedicated and generous group of parent volunteers.
