You can use the Sora mobile app to read or listen on your device, and you can even send most books to a Kindle if you have one.
OVERDRIVE AT PUBLIC LIBRARIES
Public libraries offer so much that you can access remotely, and it's okay if you don't have a card yet: Many libraries are now offering online sign-ups for digital cards!
Digital resources available for free with a library card frequently include:
- ebooks;
- audiobooks;
- streaming movies, TV, and music;
- magazines;
- newspapers;
- research databases;
- tutorial videos;
- and even online tutoring for students.
Los Angeles County residents are eligible for an instant e-card that allows access to all of LAPL's digital resources.
Los Angeles County residents may sign up for a digital library card for 90 days of access to LA County's digital resources. (Visit LACountyLibrary.org and hover over the "Digital Library" link at the top of the page to view everything they offer.)
California residents are eligible for an e-card allowing 30 days of access to Santa Monica's digital resources.
Pasadena Public Library (e-card info) and Glendale Public Library (e-card info) offer online services jointly, so you only need one of the two cards to access all the digital resources that both libraries offer.
You can get an eLibrary card online or by calling a branch.
To access Beverly Hills's digital resources, call the Customer Service Desk at (310) 288-2222 for a virtual library card.
