Former Head of School Jeanne Huybrechts proposes the Brendan Kutler Center for Independent Research and Interdisciplinary Studies to “cultivate and sustain independent research and interdisciplinary studies at Harvard-Westlake” to Brendan’s parents, Jon and Sara Kutler
The Kutler Center project is announced to the faculty and Larry Klein is named the first Director of the Kutler Center.
Gavin Cook is the first recipient of the Two Hats Award
Larry Klein creates an ISIR (Independent Research and Interdisciplinary Studies) working group to develop ISIR course criteria
Larry Klein solicits the first ISIR course proposals for 2012–2013
The Kutler Center opens
HW Scramble, a startup accelerator program and the precursor to HW Venture, is offered as a summer course
